Students > Quebec Solidarity tax credit and GST tax credit

Your children aged 18 or over who are still in school should be receiving payments from the Quebec Solidarity Tax Credit or the GST Credit. Otherwise, it would be important to notify us and send us a void cheque from their bank account so that we can enrol them in direct deposit when preparing their tax returns.

The governments indeed require that the child be enrolled in direct deposit so that amounts are paid directly into their personal bank account.

The Solidarity Tax Credit is $363 if your child lives with you and can be as high as $1,256 if they live in an apartment as of December 31, 2025, in which case they must obtain a Relevé 31 from their landlord.

The GST credit is $357.
